5 Tips to Help Kick-Off Spring Cleaning + Downloadable Checklists
With the temperature starting to warm up it means we are inching closer and closer to springtime. Which means it’s almost time to break out the cleaning supplies and a fresh donation bag. Spring cleaning can be overwhelming for new homeowners/renters, but don’t worry, we have provided some basic tips to help get you started and even attached a checklist for each room so no space gets forgotten!
1. Give Yourself Time
Spring cleaning can be a long process depending on your space and how much stuff you own. So, it’s important to make sure you are giving yourself enough time to give every task the attention it deserves. It’s usually helpful to tackle each room a day at a time so that way you don’t get scatterbrained and overwhelmed. Who said you had to conquer all of your spring cleaning in a day?
2. Declutter
We get it, you might have bought a few extra things online that you really thought you needed but now it’s just taking up space. This is the time of the year to reflect on what items you can’t live without and those that have been sitting in the back of the closet since quarantine. Anything that you haven’t used in the past year might be time to donate it to your local shelter or thrift store.
3. Get the Entire House Involved
Spring cleaning takes a lot of time, especially for one person. So use this time to get the entire family involved. Assign age appropriate chores to the little ones and put on a good playlist and watch the spring cleaning be done in no time!
4. Keep Cleaning Products to a Minimum
As much as you might want to reach for every cleaning product that comes to mind, this can be counterproductive. Having a lot of different cleaning products can result in an overcrowded cleaning cabinet and sometimes the different scents can clash. It would be best to stick to a multi-purpose disinfectant for most counters and cabinets, stainless steel cleaner, and a window cleaner.
5. Clean Room by Room
Trying to tackle an entire house or an apartment at once can be overwhelming. Approaching spring cleaning room by room is the most effective way to tackle a deep clean. This way you can be sure not to forget anything. We have provided downloadable cleaning checklists for each room to help you get organized for this upcoming spring season!
